bandwagon almost full

Nicholas K Spring 2011 via style.com

Nicolas Kunz has just premiered her first collection. You may be thinking you’ve seen it before because it’s quite similar to Rag and Bone and the many other designers incorporating “military” style with army green etc.. Even though not terribly original, I must admit that I like it. I like the heavy duty boots paired with clean and simple clothes. I’ve been wearing my combat boots with shorts and dresses for a few years now. It’s obvious that designers trying to appeal to young people, are taking their cues from the streets rather than their imaginations. Pretty smart! I’ve also worn the fringe scarf as an asymmetrical belt like in the second look (see the July post called independence). I personally wouldn’t recommend it for a guy, but it’s a cute addition to a girl’s outfit. Even though this is technically a spring collection, I think it could be a good reference if you need some inspiration for this fall’s wardrobe. J
